Join us on a delightful guided tour of the Gasparee Caves, where stunning displays of crystal-clear waters, gently lit by sunlight filtering through, contrast beautifully against calcified rock formations and a variety of stalagmites found 30 meters (100 feet) beneath the surface.
Description
At the designated time, we will meet you at your selected hotel in Port of Spain, embarking on an adventure to Gasparee Island, also referred to as Gaspar Grande, strategically positioned between Trinidad and Venezuela. The journey promises a scenic route!
Once onboard the vessel, let’s secure our life jackets and begin our voyage. En route to the island, we will pass by the remnants of an ancient whaling port, where its historical ruins await our observation.
Upon reaching Gasparee, you will be greeted by the distinctive limestone landscape. A short walk will take us to the intriguing caves and the remnants of artillery installations from the Second World War.
Next, we will enter the&nbs; Gasparee Caves, witnessing breathtaking stalactite and stalagmite formations. Our exploration leads us to the deepest chamber, situated 30 meters (100 feet) below ground level! Here, a remarkable natural pool with turquoise waters awaits, sparkling under sunlight that streams through a small aperture in the cave ceiling—truly a sight to behold!
After our enriching experience, we will board the boat for our return journey to Port of Spain. Approximately four hours later, you will be returned to your original departure point.
