Braga & Guimarães Day Trip

During this day excursion to Guimarães and Braga, we will delve into the captivating attractions of northern Portugal, revealing one of the most significant religious sites globally and the site recognized as the "birthplace of Portugal."

Braga & Guimarães from Porto

Our journey begins at Calçada da Vandoma, from where we will set off to the northern region of Portugal, headed towards Braga.

Upon arrival, we will explore the magnificent interior of the Sé de Braga and visit the renowned Santuario do Bom Jesus. Following this, we will descend into the heart of the city for a guided tour of the historic center of Braga. This enlightening tour will include views of remarkable monuments, such as the Episcopal Palace, while we stroll through the charming streets of the old town.

After thoroughly enjoying the city's sights, you will have some free time for personal exploration, giving you the chance to shop or relax, before we continue our journey to Guimarães. Once we arrive, we will visit the impressive Medieval castle and take time to appreciate the enchanting historic center, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The majestic towers of the Palace of the Dukes of Braganza dominate the skyline, and we will examine its exterior to appreciate the architectural influences of 14th-century French palaces.

We will conclude our adventure at Rua de Alexandre Herculano after a total of 9 hours of discovery.
