Fado, defined by singer Amália Rodrigues as something that simply happens without explanation, is a traditional Portuguese music form and recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Casa da Guitarra is one of the most iconic venues to experience fado. In addition to its concert hall, it also features a shop for typical Portuguese string instruments.
