On this tour, we'll visit Santiago de Compostela, a historic pilgrimage site, and Valença do Minho, a town on the Portugal-Spain border.
Description
We will pick you up at the San Bento train station in Porto, then travel through the Minho region into Spain.
Our first stop is Santiago de Compostela, the major religious center in Spain and a key pilgrimage destination, known as the end of the "Camino de Santiago".
We will visit the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral, notable for its romantic architecture and said to house the relics of St. James the Apostle. Although the cathedral is under construction with some areas closed, it remains a significant attraction.
After the visit, you will have free time for lunch and to explore the historic center (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) or purchase souvenirs.
In the afternoon, we will depart Santiago for Valença do Minho, known for its impressive fortress characterized by two towers and a double wall, showcasing 17th and 18th-century military architecture.
Finally, we will conclude our tour at Rua de Alexandre Herculano after approximately 9 hours.
