Cruz de Santa Ana & San Ignacio Ruins Day Trip

On this trip from Posadas, we'll discover two icons of the province of Misiones: the Cruz de Santa Ana and the Jesuit ruins of San Ignacio Miní. You can also complete the tour by visiting the famous Salto Encantado waterfall.

Description

At the indicated time, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Posadas for a tour of Misiones, the most northeastern province of Argentina.

The first stop will be at the Parque Temático de la Cruz, home to the Cruz de Santa Ana, a notable 52-metre (170-foot) metal crucifix. You may ascend to the viewpoint for a panoramic view of the Paraná River.

Next, we will travel to the town of San Ignacio, where you'll have about an hour for lunch. Afterward, we'll visit the reduction of San Ignacio Miní. This former Jesuit mission maintains ruins that illustrate the legacy of the Jesuits in South America.

During the visit to San Ignacio Miní, we'll explore daily life in this Guaraní reduction and learn about the history of Father Roque González de Santa Cruz, the mission's founder.

We will return to Posadas, arriving at your hotel 10 hours after pickup.

Visit to Salto Encantado (12 hours)

If you choose this option, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Posadas and travel to the Salto Encantado Provincial Park.

In this protected area, we'll view the impressive waterfall of Salto Encantado, which measures 64 metres (209 feet). We will also see the Salto la Olla and the Picaflor waterfall.

After visiting the provincial park, we will proceed to the town of San Ignacio for lunch. Following lunch, we'll take a guided tour of the Jesuit ruins of San Ignacio Miní. We will then continue to the Parque Temático de la Cruz theme park to see the Cruz de Santa Ana.

Finally, we will return to your hotel in Posadas, arriving 12 hours after pickup.
