Mysterious caves, rocky canyon landscapes and pre-Columbian remains await you on this 2-day tour around Potosi!

Day 1

Meeting will be at 8 am in front of the Potosí Mint. The first destination, located about 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) outside the city, is a silver smelter, where we will explore the mining tradition of Potosí and see colonial-era machines for processing silver. Next, we visit the Devil's Cave, known for its dark legend.

We will then head to the Cayara hacienda and its house museum, featuring mural decorations, followed by a visit to the Cayara tunnels, which were built for a hydroelectric plant financed by Luis Soux to provide public lighting in Potosi for the first time.

After lunch, we will proceed to the Chiracoro lime kilns to learn about the lime smelting process. The day concludes with a visit to Chocko Chocko hill, an archaeological site, before camping at Jatun Pampa near a river.

Day 2

After breakfast, we will begin by exploring the Valley of Rocks, home to unique geological formations and canyons inhabited by pumas.

The next destination is the Chiracoro waterfalls, where we can observe artisanal fishermen and take a break for lunch. Afterward, we will return to Potosí, arriving around 4 pm.
