At 9 am, our journey begins as we collect you from your accommodation to embark on a comprehensive tour of Potosí. A full day awaits us, filled with visits to the major historic sites of this renowned city, famously referred to as the Villa Imperial.

Our adventure will commence by uncovering the roots of Potosí's opulence during the colonial era, significantly tied to the mines of Cerro Rico and the bustling mining market. Here, the Spanish Empire extracted vast amounts of silver, enriching their treasury in the process.

Even today, the extraction of minerals such as tin and zinc persists. Our tour will grant us access to these famed mines, where we can encounter the legendary figure known as El Tío, a devilish guardian believed to watch over the miners.

After our exploration, we will savor a traditional lunch, comprising a starter, a main dish, and a drink to replenish our energy.

Following our meal, we will proceed to the National Mint of Bolivia. This building was originally proposed in the 16th century by the viceroy of Peru as a means to mint the silver sourced from the mines. Its colonial architecture and stunning porticoed courtyard offer a glimpse into the past.

Next, we will wander through the old town, where we’ll be transported back to the viceroyalty era, discussing significant historical events that unfolded in the plazas. A highlight of our visit will be stopping at the San Francisco Church, where you can admire the sacred artworks it houses.

Our tour will conclude with your return to your hotel by 5 pm, filled with memories of a day spent discovering the essence of Potosí.
