Explore the rich colonial legacy near Potosí with our excursion to Hacienda Cayara and Villacolo. This journey includes a visit to an emblematic hacienda along with breathtaking views of the Villacolo Dam and its expansive reservoir.

Hacienda Cayara & Villacolo Day Trip

Our day begins at 8 am, where we will gather in front of the Casa de la Moneda before embarking on our adventure to discover some of the most significant landmarks around the Villa Imperial de Potosí.

As we travel, we'll pause to explore the intriguing Devil's Cave, a notable natural site. Following this, our next destination is the historic Hacienda Cayara, established in 1557 and recognized as the first hacienda in Bolivia.

Presently, this estate operates as a hostel and features a museum. Here, we will delve into its compelling history by touring the manor and its richly adorned rooms, which showcase an array of valuable artifacts. Additionally, we will appreciate the colonial architecture and the stunning artworks that embellish its interior.

Once we conclude our visit at the hacienda, we will set out for Villacolo, approximately a one-hour drive away. Upon arrival, we'll take in the impressive dam and the picturesque views that frame the reservoir.

Our journey will include a visit to a cave with cave paintings, followed by a delightful picnic lunch comprising a burger, fresh fruit, and water.

After a remarkable day of exploration around Potosí, we will return to the city, concluding our trip around 4 pm.
