Melgarejo Trail Hike
After picking you up from your hotel in Potosí at 8 am, we'll head to the beginning of the Melgarejo trail to set off on our hike.
During the seven-hour hike, we will follow the footsteps of the Bolivian politician Mariano Melgarejo and learn about his history, including his decision to construct this road due to a fear of an ancient curse. The hike offers a panoramic view of Potosí and Cerro Rico, which was once home to significant silver reserves. We will also pass by the Portaretrato Cave and stop for a picnic.
After the picnic, we will continue the hike, observing local plants and wildlife, including various cacti. The tour will conclude, and we will drop you off at your hotels by around 4 pm.
Hotel pick up
This tour includes pick-up from hotels in central Potosí. If you are staying in nearby villages, you will need to reach the meeting point on Calle Lanza on your own.
