Melgarejo Trail Hike
After picking you up from your hotel in Potosí at 8 am, we'll head to the start of the Melgarejo trail for our hike.
During the seven-hour hike, we will follow in the footsteps of Bolivian politician Mariano Melgarejo. He ordered the construction of this road out of fear of an ancient curse.
We'll traverse the mountains to enjoy a panoramic view of Potosí and Cerro Rico, once home to significant silver reserves. The route will also pass by the Portaretrato Cave before a stop for a picnic.
We will continue the hike, identifying local plants and wildlife, including various cacti. At the end of the hike, we will return you to your hotel by around 4 pm.
Hotel pick up
This tour includes pick-up from hotels in central Potosí. If you are staying in nearby villages, you must make your own way to the meeting point on Calle Lanza.
