National Mint of Bolivia Tour
At the scheduled time, we will gather at the Villa Imperial located in Potosí. From this central hub, we will commence our journey towards the Plaza del 10 de Noviembre, where the National Mint of Bolivia awaits us.
This historic structure, established in 1572 as the Royal Mint of Potosi, functioned as a coin production facility during the era of Spanish colonialism. Here is where one of history's most notorious frauds unfolded. As we navigate through the various exhibition rooms, we will uncover more about its intriguing past.
Next, we will visit the residence of Francisco Gómez de la Rocha. Without giving away too much, it is essential to note that he played a pivotal role in the infamous coin counterfeiting scheme.
After delving into Rocha's legacy and the "rochunas", our exploration will continue through the city, allowing us to admire other notable sites including the Santo Domingo church, San Martín church, and the convent of Santa Teresa, among others.
The tour will conclude as we return to our initial meeting point.
