When booking, you can choose two different options. Both begin and end on Ayacucho Street, in the center of Potosí:

Kunty Mine Tour

If you choose this option, we will take you to one of the most famous modern mines in Potosí. After a 20-minute drive, we arrive at Cerro Chico, where the Kunty mine is located. We will enter the gallery to visit one of its levels and discover the mining culture. You will learn about El Tío, a deity typically associated with alcohol, tobacco, or coca leaves. Photos of the mining wagons are permitted before returning to the minibus that will take us back to the starting point.

Candelaria Mine Tour

Even older and more traditional among the Cerro Rico mines is the Candelaria mine, dating back to the seventeenth century, approximately 20 minutes away. The tour starts at a small mining museum to learn about the profession and the daily life of the miners, including their diet, schedule, and tools used, such as coca leaves for altitude acclimatization.

We will tour the galleries for two hours, discovering ancient ritual offerings and how the tunnels interconnect. The tour concludes with a return to the surface via the Rosario mine before heading back to the starting point in the vehicle.
