San Francisco Monastery Guided Tour
At your chosen time, we'll meet on Calle Ayacucho and walk to the nearby Monastery of San Francisco.
This convent, built in 1548, provides insight into colonial times when the wealth from Potosí's silver mines allowed for the construction of significant religious buildings.
The complex includes a church with tiled domes, a bell tower, several rooms used as monks' residences, and a crypt under the main altar.
We'll visit the temple where the monks pray and admire the high altar before exploring the various rooms of the monastery, observing paintings belonging to the Franciscan order.
Next, we'll proceed to the catacombs, where numerous remains are interred.
Our 1-hour tour will conclude as we depart from the monastery's exit.
