Santa Teresa Convent Guided Tour

On our guided tour of the Santa Teresa Convent, we will explore a significant collection of religious art in Latin America. The meeting point is on Calle Ayacucho, where we will proceed to visit this notable religious complex.

The convent was established in 1685 by the Order of the Discalced Carmelites in honor of Saint Teresa of Avila. In 1976, the community relocated to a modern building, transforming the convent into a museum that now showcases an important collection of religious art.

During the tour, we will visit the main church and the Hermitage of the Immaculate Conception, both serving as spiritual retreats for nuns and featuring Baroque altarpieces.

We will then explore the museum's rooms, including the Sala de la Virgen Niña, which displays textiles and embroidery crafted by the sisters, as well as the Sala de los Clásicos and the Sala del Belén.

The tour will conclude with a visit to the convent's courtyards, where we will see gardens previously tended by the Carmelites. The entire experience lasts approximately 2 hours, ending at the museum's exit.
