Potosí Mines Tour

When booking, you can choose two different options. Both begin and end on Ayacucho Street, in the center of Potosí:

Kunty Mine Tour

This option takes you to one of the most famous modern mines in Potosí. After a 20-minute drive, we arrive at Cerro Chico, where the Kunty mine is located. We will enter the gallery to visit one of its levels and discover everything related to mining culture. Learn about El Tío, the deity usually surrounded by alcohol, tobacco or coca leaves. You can take photos of the mining wagons before returning to the minibus that will take us back to the starting point.

Candelaria Mine Tour

The Candelaria mine is older and more traditional, dating back to the seventeenth century, approximately 20 minutes away. The tour starts with a visit to a small mining museum, providing insights into the profession and the daily life of the miners, including their diet, schedule, and tools used, such as coca leaves for altitude. We will tour the galleries for two hours, exploring offerings from an ancient ritual and observing how the tunnels interconnect. After the tour, we'll return to the surface via the Rosario mine before heading back to the starting point in the vehicle.
