Cidade Velha Day Trip

We'll pick you up at around 9 am from your accommodation in Praia, traveling to Cidade Velha, the first Portuguese city in Africa. Highlights include the San Felipe Fort, located 120 metres above sea level, built to defend against pirate attacks, including one by Francis Drake.

The center of the city features the ruins of the cathedral, which dates back to the 16th century. Next, we will visit the main square, previously the site of the slave market, where stands the Pelourinho, a site for public executions.

Additionally, the tour includes Banana Street, known for its distinctive houses, and the fifteenth-century church of Our Lady of the Rosary.

We'll then head to a local restaurant for lunch, featuring grilled fish, dessert, and coffee. Following lunch, the tour will return to Praia, with hotel drop-off around 3:30 pm.
