Cidade Velha Day Trip

We'll pick you up at around 9 am from your accommodation in Praia and travel to Cidade Velha, the first Portuguese city in Africa. Here you'll visit the San Felipe Fort, located 120 metres above sea level, constructed to defend against pirate attacks, including one by Francis Drake.

In the city center, you can see the ruins of the cathedral, which offer a glimpse into the 16th century. Next, visit the main square, once the site of the slave market, and see the Pelourinho, where public executions occurred.

The tour includes an exploration of Banana street, known for its distinctive houses, and the fifteenth-century church of Our Lady of the Rosary.

We will then head to a local restaurant for lunch, featuring grilled fish, dessert, and coffee. The tour concludes with a return to Praia, and you'll be escorted back to your hotel, arriving around 3:30 pm.
