Break out your boots and go hiking in the Serra de Malagueta Natural Park! Here you'll cut through the island vegetation and discover Gongon and Espinho Branco, two of the island's most traditional villages.

Serra de Malagueta Hike

We'll pick you up at the indicated time from your accommodation in Praia, and depart for the Serra de Malagueta Natural Park, located an hour away. The volcanic Fogo island offers an unforgettable sight.

Over three hours, we'll hike through the national park, exploring its diverse greenery and the Main river. Our first stop is Gongon, where the village inhabitants will share insights into the ancient traditions of Santiago Island that are still preserved today.

Continuing through the Serra de Malagueta, we'll reach Espinho Branco, known for its stunning sea views. Here, you'll meet the rabelados, a religious community that has lived in isolation since 1942, providing insight into their way of life.

At the end of the hike, a picnic lunch consisting of sandwiches, water, juice, fruit, and dessert will await you. We will return to Praia by bus and accompany you back to your hotel, concluding the excursion after approximately 5 hours of activity.
