Join us for a day at sea on this boat trip around the Ambracian Gulf, sailing the turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea.
Sail Along the Ambracian Gulf
At the indicated time, we will meet at Eleftheriou Venizelou Street, in Preveza, to commence the boat trip around the Gulf of Arta. We will explore the historical and environmental significance of this area in northwest Greece.
During the voyage, we will share information about the Ambracian Gulf, also known as the Gulf of Arta or Actium Gulf. Notably, it is almost entirely enclosed, featuring a narrow passage of 700 meters (2,296 feet) to the sea.
We will then head out to see dolphins, particularly the bottlenose dolphin, which is common in this region. Observers will have opportunities to photograph these animals as they approach the boat.
Following the dolphin sighting, we will pause for a refreshing swim and enjoy a lunch on board, consisting of fish or shellfish and a potato and tomato salad, accompanied by water, juice, beer, or wine.
After 4 to 5 hours of cruising in the Ambracian Gulf, we will return to the meeting point.
