Welcome to the capital city of Rhode Island! We'll meet at the Rhode Island Holocaust Memorial and set off on a walking tour through Providence.

This colonial city served as a refuge for settlers escaping religious persecution and became known for ghostly visitors and hauntings. Notable horror authors Edgar Allan Poe, Bram Stoker, and H.P. Lovecraft were linked to this city. The tour explores their influences on the area.

Our first stop will be Brown College's University Hall, which was used as a hospital during the Revolutionary War. Reports from students and staff include sightings of wandering spirits.

Next, we will visit the Providence Athenaeum Library, a favorite of Poe and Lovecraft. Poe met Sarah Helen Whitman here, and locals claim his spirit haunts the library.

We will then proceed to the Shunned House, the inspiration for H.P. Lovecraft's horror novel. The guide will provide insights into the home's haunted history, including unsolved mysteries and tragic murders.

The 1-hour tour concludes at the Fleur de Lys Studio.
