Delve into the culture and traditions of Pucón's Mapuche community. You'll learn about their customs, rites & dances and even play one of their ancestral sports.

Mapuche Culture Tour

At 2 pm, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Pucón and drive to the outskirts of the city, where we'll visit a local Mapuche community near the Villarrica Volcano.

During the community tour, we'll learn about the Mapuche people's culture and history by visiting several rucas, or traditional houses. Families will share insights about their worldview, main customs, dances, rites and religious ceremonies.

Participants can engage in activities like toasting wheat and spinning wool, and also have the chance to try on traditional Mapuche clothing. Women typically wear a dress called a ñaña, while men often wear a huentro.

We will also organize games of palín and chueca, two traditional Mapuche sports, and provide the history behind these activities.

After exploring the history and culture of Chile's largest indigenous group, we will return to your hotel in Pucón, arriving at 6 pm.

This activity includes pickup from hotels in central Pucón. For those in remote areas, pickup will be at Calle Pedro de Valdivia, 375.
