Discover the incredible volcanic activity in Pucón on our hike around the parasitic craters. You'll have an experience like no other as you explore these unique formations in this spectacular part of Chile.
Pucón Parasitic Craters Hike
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Pucón and drive to the Andes with temperate forests near the Villarrica Volcano, the most active volcano in Chile. Here, we will observe the parasitic craters.
These cavities, formed by volcanic lava, contribute to a breathtaking landscape. Our 5-mile (8-kilometre) hike will last between 3 and 4 hours.
The trails consist of different terrains from forests to volcanic areas. Along the way, you'll view the craters and panoramic sights of the Villarrica, Llaima, Sollipulli, and Quetrupillán volcanoes.
As we climb to the craters, we will encounter glacial lakes such as Villarrica, Caburgua, and Calafquén, which are surrounded by Andean forests. We will then return to the starting point of the hike, completing our excursion and dropping you off at your hotel in Pucón approximately 5 hours later.
