Climb to the top of the Villarrica volcano on this hiking route and enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains located in this area of Chile.
Villarrica Volcano Hike
At 6 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Pucón and drive to the base of the Villarrica Volcano.
Once we arrive at the foothills of this Andean peak, located between the Chilean regions of Araucania and Los Lagos, we'll take a chairlift up to an altitude of 2,000 meters above sea level. From there, we'll begin a hiking route to the summit of Villarrica, which stands at 2,847 meters above sea level.
The ascent will have medium-high difficulty and last 4 to 5 hours, during which we will see the Villarrica crater, a caldera that continuously generates smoke and measures 200 meters in diameter.
From the summit, we will view other peaks, such as the Lanín and Quetrupillán volcanoes, and see the Villarica and Calafquén lakes. If the weather permits, vistas of the green valleys by the lakes may also be observed.
After the hike, we will take a break for a picnic lunch while enjoying the panoramic views.
Finally, we will take the chairlift back to the base of the volcano and return to your hotel in Pucón by 6 pm.
