Teide Stargazing Tour from North Tenerife
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your chosen meeting point in North Tenerife and welcome you aboard the minibus. We'll travel to the Teide National Park.
Our first stop will be at the Teide Observatory, operational since 1964, housing a significant solar telescope. We will tour the facilities to learn about its technology.
During the observatory tour, we'll explain why Tenerife is a prime location for stargazing and how astrophysicists conduct research there, viewing the sun through the telescopes.
We will admire the sunset on Mount Teide as the sun sets behind this volcano, transitioning the sky into hues of pink and orange.
At the base station of the Teide cable car, we'll spend 30 minutes enjoying a picnic meal that includes a sausage and cheese sandwich, a sweet treat, and a drink.
Next, you will have 1 hour 15 minutes to use long-range telescopes to identify constellations. You'll learn how to locate the North Star and explore connections between Greek mythology and celestial bodies.
We'll drop you off back at the starting point after an 8-hour experience.
