Mayantuyacu River Day Trip
At 5:30 am, we'll meet at the Hospedaje Los Incas in Puerto Inca to take a bus to the Mayantuyacu River, also known as the Boiling River.
After a five-hour drive, we will board a boat to sail the turquoise waters of the Mayantuyacu River, which can reach temperatures of up to 93ºC (194ºF). This river is considered an indigenous sacred place due to the healing power of its waters and its status as a water supply for local communities.
We will continue downstream and dock to visit the Mayantuyacu indigenous community. Here, we will meet their shaman, who will explain some ancestral rituals.
At 12:30 pm, we will enjoy a traditional lunch prepared by the villagers. Following lunch, we will walk along the riverbanks to learn about the reasons behind the boiling waters of the Mayantuyacu River.
Finally, we will return to Puerto Inca, arriving at around 7 pm.
