Mayantuyacu River Day Trip
At 5:30 am, we'll meet at the Hospedaje Los Incas in Puerto Inca to take the bus to the Mayantuyacu River, also known as the Boiling River.
After a five-hour drive, we'll board a boat to sail the turquoise waters of the Mayantuyacu River, which can reach temperatures of up to 93ºC (194ºF). We will learn about the mystical stories of this river, considered a sacred place by the indigenous people due to the healing properties of its waters, which also serve as their water supply. We will continue downriver to visit the Mayantuyacu indigenous community and meet their shaman, who will teach us about some of their ancestral rituals.
At 12:30 pm, we'll enjoy a traditional lunch prepared by the villagers. After lunch, we will walk along the riverbanks and learn the reasons behind the boiling waters of the Mayantuyacu River.
Lastly, we'll return to Puerto Inca, arriving at around 7 pm.
