Puerto Inca Chocolate Workshop
In Peru, chocolate holds a significant place, with some studies suggesting it as the birthplace of cocoa consumption. The tropical climate is ideal for growing the cocoa tree, resulting in some of the world's tastiest chocolate.
This workshop in Puerto Inca will cover the essentials of Peruvian cocoa culture. Participants will meet at 8 am at Hospedaje Los Incas to begin the experience. The day starts with a visit to the farm to pick ripe cocoa fruit.
A break for lunch will follow, offering soup or salad, a meat or fish dish, and a fruit drink.
Post-lunch, attendees will extract the white pulp from the fruit, which contains the cocoa beans. The process includes roasting, peeling, crushing, grinding the beans, tempering, and molding the cocoa to create handmade chocolate.
The workshop concludes with tasting the chocolate made by the participants. The experience ends at 6 pm.
