Puerto Inca Chocolate Workshop
In Peru, chocolate holds a significant role in its diverse flavors. Some studies indicate that Peru may be the birthplace of cocoa consumption. The tropical climate favors the cultivation of the cocoa tree, resulting in some of the world's finest chocolate.
This workshop in Puerto Inca covers the Peruvian cocoa culture. The experience begins at 8 am at Hospedaje Los Incas. Participants will visit the farm to pick ripe cocoa fruit. A break for lunch follows, consisting of soup or salad, a plate of meat or fish, and a fruit drink.
After lunch, the workshop involves extracting the white pulp from the fruit, roasting, peeling, and crushing the cocoa beans. Participants will grind the beans, temper, and mold the cocoa to create a handmade chocolate product.
The workshop concludes at 6 pm, during which participants will taste the chocolate they made.
