Ayampe River Birdwatching Tour

After meeting in Puerto López or Montañita at the specified time, we'll head to the Ecuadorian jungle for the birdwatching experience on the Ayampe River.

Following a 20 to 40-minute trip to the Ayampe River, located 15 kilometers north of Machalilla National Park, we'll begin a leisurely walk along the riverbank.

The Ayampe River is a strategic area for birdwatching, hosting 328 species, including endemics like the Esmeraldas woodstar, visible from December to March.

During the tour, we'll take a break for breakfast consisting of coffee or hot beverages, fruit, and vegetable sandwiches with cheese.

We'll continue exploring, looking for species such as the collared aracari, Ecuadorian trogons, gray-backed hawks, great white herons, and pelicans, while learning about their unique characteristics.

After four to four and a half hours, we will conclude the activity at the meeting point.
