Ayampe River Birdwatching Tour
After meeting in Puerto López or Montañita at the indicated time, we'll head towards the Ecuadorian jungle to begin this birdwatching experience on the Ayampe River.
Following a 20 to 40-minute trip to the Ayampe River, located 15 kilometers north of Machalilla National Park, we'll start a leisurely walk along the river bank.
The Ayampe River is a strategic area for birdwatching, home to 328 species, including the endemic Esmeraldas woodstar, visible from December to March.
During the route, we'll have a break for breakfast with coffee or hot beverages, fruit and vegetable sandwiches with cheese.
We'll continue the tour, looking for species such as the collared araçari, Ecuadorian trogons, gray-backed hawks, great white herons, and pelicans, learning about their characteristics.
After four to four and a half hours, we'll conclude the activity and say goodbye at the meeting point.
