Ayampe River Birdwatching Tour

After meeting in Puerto López or Montañita at the scheduled time, we'll travel to the Ecuadorian jungle for the birdwatching experience on the Ayampe River. The journey to the Ayampe River, 15 kilometers north of Machalilla National Park, will take 20 to 40 minutes.

The Ayampe River is a strategic area for birdwatching, housing 328 species, including endemic species like the Esmeraldas woodstar, visible from December to March.

During the tour, a break for breakfast will be provided, including coffee or hot beverages and fruit and vegetable sandwiches with cheese.

We will continue the tour observing species such as the collared araçari, Ecuadorian trogons, gray-backed hawks, great white herons, and pelicans, learning about their characteristics along the way.

After four to four and a half hours, the activity will conclude at the meeting point.
