Have you explored Isla de la Plata yet? On this guided trip from Puerto López, you’ll uncover the stunning vistas of this small island nestled within Machalilla National Park!
Excursion to Isla de la Plata
Our adventure begins as we gather at the Puerto Lopez dock, where we will board a vessel. After approximately two hours of sailing, we’ll arrive at Isla de la Plata, a key feature of Machalilla National Park.
This protected zone is one of the largest along the country's coast, featuring both marine and terrestrial environments. Notably, it hosts the only coral reefs in Ecuador.
During our journey, a knowledgeable local guide will accompany us, sharing insights while we soak in the stunning scenery. We'll encounter sea birds, dramatic rock formations, and towering cliffs—a wealth of natural wonders awaits! Once we set foot on the island, we’ll take a leisurely walk to observe the unique flora and fauna that this area boasts, often referred to as the Little Galapagos.
As our exploration concludes, we'll enjoy a light picnic lunch comprising a sandwich, two seasonal fruits, mineral water, and soda. Following our meal, we’ll reboard the boat and head to a prime location for snorkeling. The crystal-clear waters here allow for excellent visibility of vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life!
We will wrap up the excursion with our return to the Puerto Lopez dock, where we expect to arrive around 9 hours after embarking.
