PADI Open Water Course

Learn to dive like a professional in the Machalilla marine reserve in this PADI Open Water course in Puerto López. You can choose from two different levels, depending on your previous experience.

Options

The marine reserve of Machalilla National Park is ideal for scuba diving. In its coral reefs, you can find a multitude of species such as fish, turtles, crustaceans, and cetaceans. This PADI Open Water course in Puerto López is designed to teach you how to navigate underwater and discover its attractions.

PADI Open Water Course

The PADI Open Water course consists of three parts that can be completed in 2 or 3 days, depending on whether you choose classroom or distance learning.

Day 1

The first part includes a theoretical lesson on the basic principles of diving. This can be done face-to-face or at home. If you choose to study at home, we will send you materials, and you would attend the practical lesson on the second day.

Day 2

The second day begins with diving in confined waters to practice what you learned. After a lunch break, you will proceed to the open sea for two dives of up to 12 meters (40 feet) to enhance your diving skills and confidence.

Day 3

The final day is reserved for two more open water dives to explore the underwater world of Puerto López. Upon completion, you'll receive your PADI Open Water certificate.

PADI Advanced Open Water Course

The PADI Advanced Open Water course allows you to extend the depth limit of your dives to 30 meters (98 feet) and improve your skills from the previous PADI course.

This course includes five dives: one Deep Adventure Dive, one Underwater Navigator Adventure Dive, and three dives chosen from the following options:

After completion, you'll receive a temporary PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification card, valid worldwide. Your permanent certification card will follow by mail within a few weeks.
