Excursion to San Sebastián Rainforest

We will begin by collecting you at the designated meeting point in either Puerto López or Montañita at the appointed time. Are you prepared to explore this extraordinary ecological haven in Manabí?

Climbing aboard our transportation, we will make our way to the Río Blanco, marking the start of a 3.5-hour hike through the lush San Sebastián rainforest.

As we journey along the trail, you’ll have the opportunity to observe various bird species alongside the unique plant life found in Machalilla National Park, which shares many features with the Amazon rainforest. This area is recognized as a key site for biological regeneration within the Choco-Manabí Binational Corridor.

Stay vigilant! On our path, we may encounter howler monkeys, guans, guantas, deer, and a diverse array of insects. In addition, the flora of the San Sebastián rainforest boasts over 150 endemic species.

Feeling hungry? Don’t worry, around 1:45 pm, we will pause for a tasty lunch that includes a starter, a main dish, and a drink.

Our adventure concludes as we make our return, dropping you back at the meeting point. You can expect to complete your journey approximately six to eight hours later, depending on your starting location.
