  • 8 Stunden

Around the picturesque Chubut River valley, there are several towns with curious Welsh names, such as Rawson, Trelew, and Gaiman. Discover its community and culture on this tour from Puerto Madryn.

Chubut Valley Trip

We will depart from your hotel in Puerto Madryn to Rawson, the capital of Chubut province, where we will board a boat for a dolphin watching cruise. You will observe magnificent marine animals of the southern Atlantic region.

After the boat trip, we will go to the resort of Playa Union, where you will have free time to enjoy local seafood. Following this, we will travel to the Chubut River valley, the area established by Welsh colonists. Our next stop is Gaiman, where you will explore the main streets and see the Welsh legacy in the town, including the old railway station and colonial houses from the late 19th century. Before leaving, we will visit a classic teahouse for authentic Welsh tea and biscuits.

Our final destination is Trelew, which developed after the construction of the Central Chubut Railway. You will learn about the significance of this railway in the region's evolution. We will also visit a lagoon in town to see flamingos and other birds. The tour concludes at the Egidio Feruglio Paleontological Museum, featuring impressive dinosaur fossils, before returning to your hotel in Puerto Madryn.
