Chubut Valley Trip
At the scheduled time, we will depart from your hotel in Puerto Madryn and proceed to Rawson, the capital of Chubut province. A dolphin-watching cruise is available for those interested, offering a view of magnificent marine life in the southern Atlantic.
After the boat trip, we will visit the coastal resort of Playa Union for some free time to relax and enjoy the scenery. Following this, we will journey to the Chubut River valley, home to Welsh colonists who established a 'tiny corner of Wales in South America'. Our next stop is the town of Gaiman.
In Gaiman, you will discover the Welsh legacy, seen in the old railway station and colonial-style homes built by early settlers in the late 19th century. Before departing, we will visit a traditional teahouse for Welsh tea and biscuits.
Our final stop is Trelew, which grew after the construction of the Central Chubut Railway, linking the valley to Puerto Madryn. The significance of this railway in the region's development will be discussed. Additionally, we will visit a lagoon in town, known for its flamingos and diverse birdlife.
The tour concludes at the Egidio Feruglio Paleontological Museum, showcasing impressive dinosaur fossils. We will return to your hotel in Puerto Madryn at the end of this 8-hour trip.
