If you are arriving in Puerto Madryn by cruise, our specially designed trip to Punta Tombo is a suitable activity. You will explore Argentina's largest colony of penguins and its stunning landscapes.
Punta Tombo Shore Excursion
We pick you up at the port of Puerto Madryn and proceed to Punta Tombo (entrance not included). After approximately 100 miles, we will reach the natural reserve known for harboring Argentina's largest colony of penguins.
Upon arrival, we will embark on a walk along the nature trail through the reserve. You will encounter penguins among the vegetation and caring for their chicks, necessitating silence to avoid disturbing them.
We will stop at a viewpoint to observe the penguins interacting with the ocean. As we explore Punta Tombo, you will learn about the behavior of these animals, with over a million penguins visiting during the summer.
Additionally, you may also see native wildlife such as Guanacos, Piche 'dwarf' armadillos, and foxes.
After the walk, we will visit a roadside inn for your lunch break (not included) before beginning our return to Puerto Madryn. We will arrive back at the port in time for you to board your cruise ship.
Road conditions
The trip is subject to road conditions. If access to the reserve is affected, you may choose to change the date or receive a refund.
