Join us on a day trip from Puerto Madryn along the Valdés Peninsula to spot different species of animals native to this area of Patagonia.
Day Trip Details
After pickup at your hotel in Puerto Madryn, we will head to the Valdes Peninsula nature conservation area. First, we will stop to pay the entrance fee to the reserve, then proceed to the Carlos Ameghino isthmus visitor center. Following this, we will visit the village of Puerto Pirámides, where between June 15 and December 15, you can take an optional boat trip for whale watching. Those not taking the boat will have free time there.
Next, we will visit Caleta Valdés, making up to three stops depending on the season. The first stop will be at the cove, the second at Punta Cantor to see elephant seals and sea lions, and the third at the penguin colony from September to April to see Magellanic penguins. There is a possibility of seeing killer whales if weather permits.
We will also observe wildlife such as guanacos, choiques, and hares on the way to Punta Norte, where from September to December we will see elephant seals, and from December to May, a colony of sea lions. We may also see killer whales.
Lunch will be on your own before returning to Puerto Madryn, with arrival scheduled 10 hours after pickup.
