Valdes Peninsula Day Trip

  • 10 - 12 Stunden

Join us on a day trip from Puerto Madryn along the Valdés Peninsula to spot wildlife native to Patagonia.

Day Trip Details

After pickup at your hotel in Puerto Madryn, we will go to the Valdes Peninsula nature conservation area. The first stop is to pay the entrance fee to enter the reserve, followed by a visit to the Carlos Ameghino isthmus visitor center. Next, we will proceed to Puerto Pirámides, where between June 15 and December 15, there is an optional boat trip for whale watching. Those who do not opt for the boat ride will have free time in Puerto Pirámides.

Next, we will visit Caleta Valdés with up to three stops depending on the season: the cove for viewing the inlet, Punta Cantor for elephant seals and sea lions, and a penguin colony from September to April. If conditions allow, killer whales may also be seen.

Continuing to Punta Norte, sightings include guanacos, choiques, maras, hares, foxes, and armadillos. From September to December, we will see elephant seals, and from December to May, a colony of sea lions. Lunch will be at your leisure before returning to Puerto Madryn, scheduled for 10 hours after pickup.
