Valdes Peninsula Day Trip + Whale Watching
Pickup will occur at your hotel in Puerto Madryn to begin the journey to the Protected Natural Area of the Valdes Peninsula.
After paying the entrance fee at the reserve, the tour proceeds to the Carlos Ameghino isthmus interpretation center for information on local fauna and flora. The tour continues to Puerto Pirámides, where, weather permitting, participants can enjoy a boat ride for whale spotting.
The next stop is Caleta Valdés, with up to three stops depending on the season. The first stop is at the cove, followed by Punta Cantor, featuring viewpoints for observing elephant seals and sea lions. The third is a penguin colony, visible from September to April, with potential sightings of killer whales if conditions are suitable.
Other native species such as guanacos, choiques, maras, hares, foxes, and armadillos can also be viewed. The tour then heads to Punta Norte; from September to December, elephant seals are visible, and from December to May, sea lions can be seen. Killer whales may also be observed if conditions allow.
Lunch is on your own, and the return to Puerto Madryn is scheduled for roughly 10 hours after pickup.
