Valdes Peninsula Day Trip + Whale Watching
We will pick you up at your hotel in Puerto Madryn and depart for the Protected Natural Area of the Valdes Peninsula. After paying the entrance fee at the reserve checkpoint, we will visit the Carlos Ameghino isthmus interpretation center to learn about local flora and fauna. Our next stop is the town of Puerto Pirámides, where, if weather permits, you can observe whales on a boat ride.
Next, we will visit Caleta Valdés, making up to three stops depending on the season. The first stop is in the cove, the second at Punta Cantor for views of elephant seals and sea lions, and the third at the penguin colony, where from September to April, Magellanic penguins can be seen. It is also possible to spot killer whales here if conditions are good!
While viewing species like guanacos, choiques, maras, hares, foxes, and armadillos, we will proceed to Punta Norte. From September to December, we will see elephant seals, and from December to May, sea lions. Killer whales may also be visible depending on conditions.
You will have lunch independently in the area, and we will return to Puerto Madryn, arriving at your hotel approximately 10 hours after pickup.
