Valdes Peninsula Excursion + Whale Watching

  • 10 - 12 Stunden

On this excursion to the Valdes Peninsula with whale watching, you'll explore a biodiverse area and observe various cetaceans in their natural habitat.

Valdes Peninsula Excursion + Whale Watching

We will pick you up at your hotel in Puerto Madryn and depart to the Protected Natural Area of the Valdes Peninsula. After paying the entrance fee, we'll visit the Carlos Ameghino isthmus interpretation center to learn about local fauna and flora. The tour proceeds to Puerto Pirámides, where, weather permitting, you can spot whales on a boat ride.

Next, we will head to Caleta Valdés, where we may make up to three stops depending on the season. The first stop is in the cove to observe the sea's entry. The second stop at Punta Cantor offers viewpoints for elephant seals and sea lions. The final stop at the penguin colony allows for the observation of Magellanic penguins from September to April, with potential sightings of killer whales if conditions are favorable.

We'll also look for native species like guanacos, choiques, maras, hares, foxes, and armadillos at Punta Norte. From September to December, you can see elephant seals, and from December to May, sea lions might also be spotted along with possible killer whales.

Lunch will be at your own expense before returning to Puerto Madryn, with an estimated arrival at your hotel 10 hours after pickup.
