Discover one of Argentina's natural treasures with our trip to the Valdes Peninsula, specially adapted for cruise passengers arriving in Puerto Madryn.
Valdes Peninsula Shore Excursion
We will meet you at the port of Puerto Madryn upon your cruise ship's arrival and then head to the Valdes Peninsula (entry not included), a nature reserve just outside the city.
The journey will take us across the isthmus of Carlos Ameghino, connecting the peninsula to Chabut province on the mainland. This wilderness area covers 1,400 square miles and is home to diverse animal species. We will arrive at the Interpretation Center, which includes an observation point with views across the peninsula to both gulfs and Isla de Los Pájaros, home to gulls, herons, and penguins.
Next, we'll visit Caleta Valdés bay to see Elephant Seals and Sea lions in their natural habitat. We then head to Punta Cantor for closer views and take a break for food if you wish (not included).
Afterward, we continue exploring the peninsula, with a chance to spot orcas hunting in groups. Our final stop is Puerto Pirámides, the only settlement on the peninsula, designated as a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve due to its biodiversity, where you can see a large colony of sea lions.
In the afternoon, we will return to the port of Puerto Madryn to board your cruise ship.
