The tour begins with a pickup at 11:00 am from your hotel in Puerto Montt, followed by a drive along the Carretera Austral to explore the local avifauna.

Initially, we will pass through the fishermen's coves of Coihuin, Chamiza, and Piedra Azul, proceeding to the Pichi Quillaipe sector. Continuing, we will reach the beach resort of Pelluco, where we will walk to observe the principal native birds.

Conditions permitting, we may see endemic birds such as black-necked swans, southern pylons, and gulls. We will also visit the church of Santa Cruz de Pelluco and follow the Carretera Austral to Piedra Azul, making a brief stop for a drink.

Afterwards, we will return via Chilean Route 7, the official designation of the Carretera Austral, heading back to the Lenca sector. Along this route, we will search for birds such as the cahuil and the chucao. During the tour, you’ll learn to distinguish them by their plumage, beak color, and trills.

Finally, we will return to your hotel in Puerto Montt, arriving at 4 pm.
