Chiloé Day Trip: Quemchi, Dalcahue & Castro

We'll pick you up from your downtown Puerto Montt hotel. After a scenic hour-long drive to Pargua, we'll board a ferry to cross the Chacao Channel, observing sea lions, pelicans, and other marine fauna. This channel separates the continent from Chiloé Island. After about 30 minutes, we'll arrive at the port of Chacao for a brief walk through town, featuring its church and main square.

Welcome to Quemchi, known as the "Commune of 1000 Landscapes." We then cross a 430-meter (1,410-foot) bridge to Aucar, referred to as the “Island of the Sailing Souls.” Our tour continues to Dalcahue, where we will visit the handicraft market and the church of Nuestra Señora De Los Dolores, which is a part of the World Heritage Site.

Our final stop is Castro, the capital of Chiloé, known for its brightly colored houses. We will visit the San Francisco church and its handicraft market. Afterward, we'll return to Puerto Montt, arriving approximately 12 hours after pickup.
