Chiloé Day Trip: Quemchi, Dalcahue & Castro
We'll pick you up from your downtown Puerto Montt hotel. From there, we'll enjoy a scenic hour-long drive to the town of Pargua. Upon arrival at the port, we'll board a ferry to sail across the Chacao Channel. During the crossing, we'll observe sea lions, pelicans, and other typical marine fauna. After about 30 minutes, we'll arrive at the port of Chacao and take a brief stroll through town to see its church and main square.
Welcome to Quemchi! This area, known as the "Commune of 1000 Landscapes," offers scenic views. Next, we will cross a 430-meter (1,410-foot) bridge to reach Aucar, the “Island of the Sailing Souls.”
Continuing towards the municipality of Dalcahue, we will visit the handicraft market and the church of Nuestra Señora De Los Dolores, a World Heritage Site.
Our final stop will be in Castro, the island's capital, known for its brightly colored houses. Here, we will visit the San Francisco church and its handicraft market.
Finally, we'll return to Puerto Montt, with arrival scheduled for 12 hours after pickup.
Hotel Pickup
This activity includes pickup only at hotels in downtown Puerto Montt, not at apartments. If you are staying in an apartment or a hotel farther away, we'll meet at the entrance of the Hotel Ibis (Diego Portales 1001, 5480000 Puerto Montt, Los Lagos).
