Get to know the essence of Dominican culture on this tour of Puerto Plata that will introduce you to the local customs, traditions and typical Caribbean gastronomy.

Dominican Culture Tour

Between 8 and 9 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in a tourist truck with open-air seats to tour the Bay of Maimon on the northern coast. You'll observe different ecosystems and impressive views of Puerto Plata from over 330 feet (100 meters) above sea level.

During the trip, we'll meet a Dominican family who will explain their customs and offer a selection of typical products like local fruits, coffee and cocoa.

Next, we'll visit Playa de Guzmancito, where you'll have free time for a relaxing dip, horseback riding, or snorkeling. Following this, we'll enjoy a buffet lunch at a traditional ranch featuring local specialties.

After lunch, we'll drive through surrounding Dominican towns and visit a tobacco plantation to see how the famous Dominican cigars are handmade, a key export of the country.

We will return to your hotel in Puerto Plata by 5 pm.
