If you've got a sweet tooth, you'll love our Puerto Plata Cacao Tour! You'll learn all about how chocolate is made in the Dominican Republic as we visit a chocolate hacienda and take a tour of the city.

Puerto Plata Cacao Tour

At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel to start our cacao tour of Puerto Plata. This tour will involve learning about chocolate in the Dominican Republic.

We will first visit the Hacienda Cufa in the forest, where we will learn how cacao is grown and produced. We will observe the pods where beans are found, understand how the cacao tree is cared for, and learn about the collection process.

Participants will also experience a chocolate facial treatment to appreciate the benefits of cacao on the skin. Afterwards, we will prepare a treat to try later.

Before leaving the hacienda, we will enjoy a traditional Dominican lunch. Post lunch, our visit will continue to the Amber Museum in Puerto Plata, where we will see remarkable Dominican amber stones, some containing fossils.

The tour will include a stroll along the Doña Blanca promenade (Pink Street). We will also walk along the picturesque umbrella street.

After visiting the Cathedral, we will return to your hotel and conclude the tour by 3 pm.
