Puerto Plata Food Tour

At 9 am, we'll meet at General Gregorio Luperón Avenue and begin a food tour of Puerto Plata. We'll taste traditional flavors while learning about the culture and history of the city.

Our first destination will be Puerto Plata's most popular market, where we will discover exotic fruits and vegetables of the Dominican Republic, commonly used spices, and how tobacco is grown. Next, we'll visit a community gallery featuring jewelry made from the national gemstone, Larimar.

We will continue the tour learning about the country's religion and Dominican voodoo. We will enter the historic district, characterized by traditional barbershops and food stalls. In one of these stalls, we will taste the well-known chulitos made of yucca and stuffed with meat or cheese, and enjoy handmade ice cream in the main square.

Additionally, we'll visit the Casa Museo Gregorio Luperón to learn about the history of Puerto Plata. Finally, we'll enjoy a traditional Dominican lunch at the home of a local family, savoring the specialties of the Caribbean country!

We will conclude the tour at 1 pm at the starting point.
