The Taino Valley tour offers an opportunity to explore the Dominican Republic’s indigenous nature and culture, alongside a guided tour of Puerto Plata to uncover its history and landmarks.

Tour Details

The adventure begins with pickup at the Puerto Plata cruise port or your hotel. We will travel to a historically significant natural site in the Dominican Republic.

Following a drive, we’ll arrive at the Taino Valley Tropical Park, an ecological reserve featuring lush vegetation and trails. During our walk, we’ll encounter statues of ancient Taino gods and learn about their cultural significance.

Next, we’ll reach the Taino Valley viewpoint for panoramic views of the valley. After a break, we’ll visit fruit plantations to taste fresh fruits directly from the tree.

We’ll also explore the Dominican coffee route, discovering the coffee production process and enjoying freshly brewed coffee. Additionally, we’ll learn about Dominican tobacco and the making of cigars.

Lunch will be served at the Casa Colonial. We’ll then head to Puerto Plata to visit the San Felipe Fortress, enjoy views of the Caribbean Sea, and learn its history.

Our tour continues at the Amber Museum, followed by a visit to Independence Square, the Cathedral, Rose Street, and the colorful street of umbrellas. The tour concludes with a drop-off at the pickup point after a 7-hour adventure.
