At the appointed time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Puerto Plata. On board a minibus, we'll set off for Santiago de los Caballeros, the second most important city in the country. After a 75-minute journey, we'll arrive in Santiago, a city with more than 2 million inhabitants. The first stop will be at a local ceramic factory to learn about the process of making the famous Dominican faceless dolls.

Next, we'll walk to the epicenter of the city, called the Cerro del Castillo, to see the Monument to the Heroes of the Restoration and explore its history. Afterwards, we will enjoy a traditional Dominican meal. As we explore Santiago, we'll pass important buildings, including the Eduardo León Jimenes Cultural Centre and Centro León, a museum dedicated to Dominican culture and art.

We will also visit the La Aurora cigar factory, one of the largest in the country, to learn about its history and current products. Before leaving Santiago, we'll walk along Sol Street with its many shops. Afterward, we'll return to the minibus and head back to the hotel in Puerto Plata, arriving after a 9-hour excursion.
