The island of Chiloé is one of the most spectacular spots in Chile. On our Chacao, Ancud & the Beaches of Chiloé Trip, we'll see its cities, the famous Puñihuil islets and maybe even some penguins!

Chacao, Ancud & the Beaches of Chiloé Trip

After collecting you from your hotel, we'll head to the village of Pargua. From there, we will board a ferry to the island of Chiloé.

During the crossing, you will admire the landscapes surrounding the Chacao Channel and see some local wildlife including pelicans and sea lions. Upon arrival at the island, we will explore Chacao and see its iconic larch wood houses and churches, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Next, we will visit Caulín, a bay on the north coast of the island, where we will explore Balneario de Caulín, known for its oysters, pearl farms, and marine wildlife.

Afterwards, we will board a boat to the Puñihuil Islets, home to both Magellanic and Humboldt penguins, the only location where these species coexist. We will discuss their lifestyle, environment, and the food sources that support them.

The tour will proceed to the city of Ancud, the island's capital until 1982. We'll visit the Regional Museum and San Antonio Fort to learn about Chiloé's history during the Chilean War of Independence.

You will then have 1 hour of free time for lunch in Ancud, with options at the municipal market to explore local cuisine. We will return you to your hotel approximately 11 hours after departure.

If you're staying in other areas of these cities, we will contact you to arrange an alternative meeting point. This activity is not available for cruise passengers as pickup at the port is not possible.
