Tour of Carretera Austral Villages

Between 7:30 and 8 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel and drive to the small village of Caleta La Arena. Once there, we'll board a ferry boat to cross the Reloncaví estuary towards the Carretera Austral.

After a 35-minute crossing, we'll disembark at Caleta Puelche and begin the route along the Carretera Austral, a 745.5-mile (1,200-km) road connecting this town with Villa O'Higgins. The route features ancient larch forests, volcanoes, glaciers, and fjords. This tour includes driving the initial stretch of the road, visiting different villages while admiring the flora and fauna of the Carretera Austral through a combination of bus rides and short hikes.

We will visit villages like Caleta Pichicolo and Hornopirén, enjoying the natural beauty and hiking through native forests to see the Rio Negro waterfalls and a stratovolcano of 5,157.5 ft (1,572 meters) altitude. After arriving at Hornopirén, we’ll begin our return, concluding the excursion with drop-off at your hotel around 7 pm.
