Admire the incredible landscapes of the Chilean Patagonia on this tour through the villages of the Carretera Austral. We'll travel along the most famous road in the country visiting some of its main villages, such as Pichicolo or Hornopirén. You'll be fascinated!

Tour of Carretera Austral Villages

Between 7:30 and 8 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel and drive to the village of Caleta La Arena. There, we'll board a ferry boat that will take us across the Reloncaví estuary towards the Carretera Austral.

After a 35-minute crossing, we'll disembark at Caleta Puelche and begin our route along the Carretera Austral, a 745.5-mile (1,200-km) road connecting this town with Villa O'Higgins. This road features ancient larch forests, volcanoes, glaciers, and fjords.

On this excursion, we'll drive the initial stretch of the road, visiting various villages while admiring the local flora and fauna. The tour combines bus rides with short hikes to explore this part of Chilean Patagonia.

In addition to villages like Caleta Pichicolo and Hornopirén, we will hike through native forests to see the Rio Negro waterfalls and a stratovolcano measuring 5,157.5 ft (1,572 meters) in altitude.

After reaching Hornopirén, our final destination, we will begin our return journey, dropping you back at your hotel around 7 pm.
