Pula Free Tour
At the appointed time we'll kick off our free tour of Pula from Trg Forum. In this central city square, we'll admire the Town Hall building's exterior and the Temple of Augustus. Here, we'll learn why this temple was highly revered by the ancient Romans.
Next, we'll stroll over to Pula Castle for the best views of this port city. From here, we'll pause in front of the Statue of James Joyce, as the famed Irish writer has links with this area of Croatia. Then, we'll pass under the Serbian Arch, which is over 2,000 years old.
Throughout our tour of Pula, we'll see other vestiges of antiquity, like the Twin and Hercules Gates. Nearby, we'll contemplate the Arena of Pula, a spectacular Roman amphitheater, reminiscent of the Colosseum in Rome.
Finally, after a 2-hour tour, we'll conclude at Tito's Park, where we'll discuss Croatia's Yugoslav past and bring the experience to a close.
