Are you an adventurer at heart? Don't miss out on this hiking and caving activity in Los Gigantes! It'll be an exhilarating experience in this spectacular area of northern Argentina.
Hiking + Caving in Los Gigantes
When you make your reservation, you'll have the option to choose between the following itineraries, which differ in trail length and activity location. We will meet at the scheduled time on the RP28 Route of Los Gigantes.
Hiking and Caving in the La Bestia River
Selecting this option includes a hike of 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) with a medium-high difficulty level, lasting approximately 9 hours and reaching an altitude of 1600 meters (5,250 feet). We will stop along the way to rest, enjoy views of the province of Cordoba, and have a picnic lunch.
The route will take us through the Batán ravine and into the underground river La Bestia, where we will descend 72 meters (236 feet), navigate waterfalls, narrow passages, and five chambers. Additionally, we will need to swim through a 35-meter (114 feet) section with walls only 60 centimeters (2 feet) wide.
The activity concludes back at the meeting point after this adventure.
Hiking and Caving in the Toro Gorge
Choosing this itinerary involves a 14-kilometer (8.7 miles) hike, also with medium-high difficulty, reaching a maximum altitude of 2100 meters (6,900 feet) and lasting between 8 and 9 hours. We will stop to rest, eat, and enjoy the landscapes of Cordoba.
This trail runs along the eastern slope of the Toro ravine and leads to a cave where we will descend to the underground waterfall of El Toro at a depth of 40 meters (131 feet), over a distance of 120 meters (400 feet). This waterfall is the second largest underground waterfall on the planet.
After this experience, we will return to the meeting point to conclude our adventure.
