Colca Canyon 2-Day Tour

Day 1: Puno - Chivay

We'll pick you up at your hotel in Puno between 6:15 and 6:30 am and head to Chivay, about 300 kilometers (186 miles) away. On the way, we'll cross the altiplano, where we'll see wetlands, lagoons, streams, and plains. We'll also spot various mammals such as vicuñas, llamas, and alpacas, as well as a variety of birds such as flamingos and guallatas.

On the route to Patahuasi, we'll enter the Colca Canyon, passing by the crater of the extinct Chucura volcano and stopping at the volcanoes viewpoint at 4,910 meters (just over 16,100 feet).

Between 1 and 1:30 pm, we'll arrive at a hotel in Chivay where you can have lunch on your own. You will also have dinner on your own and stay the night. You can spend the free time after lunch visiting Chivay or enjoying the thermal baths.

Day 2: Chivay - Cruz del Condor - Chivay - Arequipa

After breakfast at the hotel, we'll take you to the Cruz del Condor, the most impressive viewpoint of the Colca Canyon, where you'll have two hours of free time to enjoy the view and possibly see condors take flight.

We will return by bus to Chivay, passing through the towns of Pinchollo, Maca, and Yanque, and crossing terraces and archaeological sites. Upon arriving in Chivay, you'll have an hour for lunch, and around 1 pm, we will depart for Arequipa, arriving between 4:30 and 5 pm.

Accommodation

This tour includes one night of accommodation with breakfast in Chivay. You can choose the type of establishment when reserving:

All accommodations will be in a double room.

Hotel Pickup

The tour includes pickup from hotels in the center of Puno. If your accommodation is on the outskirts, you must make your way to Calle Jiron Arequipa, near Plaza de Armas.

Please note that pickup is not available from certain hotels, including GHL Lago Titicaca, Casa Andina Premium, Sonesta Posada, and any hotels located on the Uros Islands.
