Day Trip to Sillustani

Tour Details

After hotel pickup at the designated time, we’ll travel northeast for approximately 45 minutes to the archaeological site of Sillustani.

Located on the shores of Lake Umayo, at 13,123 feet (4,000 meters) above sea level, you’ll view the chullpas, tombs constructed in tower-like structures. These pre-Inca structures display an unusual construction where many are wider at the top than at the base.

As you explore Sillustani, you’ll learn about the ancient Colla culture and their funeral rituals. You will also have the opportunity to admire Lake Umayo, considered sacred by local cultures.

Following the exploration of Sillustani, we will return to your hotel in Puno, concluding the tour in approximately three and a half hours.

This tour includes pickup from hotels in central Puno. If you are staying elsewhere, you will need to go to Jiron Arequipa Street, near Plaza de Armas.
