Visit the Jesuit temple of Santiago Apostle and its eerie catacombs decorated with skulls and bones with this excursion to Lampa, where you'll also see its colonial buildings built with pink ashlar stone.

Lampa Day Trip

We'll pick you up at 8 am at your hotel in Puno for a 2-hour drive to Lampa.

Upon arrival, we'll visit the Jesuit temple of Santiago Apostle, featuring Christian relics, including a sculpture of the Virgin of Chiquinquira, a crucified Christ made of leather, the silver image of the Immaculate Conception, and a replica of Michelangelo's Pietà.

We will access the atrium of the church, surrounded by 8 towers, and explore the ancient catacombs, where you'll observe skulls and bones arranged on the walls.

After the temple visit, we'll walk through Lampa's streets to see its colonial buildings, including the Casona Frisancho and the Municipality of Lampa, constructed in pink ashlar stone. We'll also cross the Cal y Canto bridge.

On our return to Puno, we'll stop at a local market for some free time to shop. This is a great opportunity to buy souvenirs.

We will arrive back in Puno and drop you off at your hotel by 3 pm.
