Description

The Ruta del Sol is a must-do journey through southern Peru, showcasing the history, landscapes, and cuisine of the Andes. The tour begins at Avenida Costanera with Jr. Lampa. The first stop is the town of Pukara, where visitors can learn about the legacy of the ancient Andean people at the Pukara interpretation center. This site features the Pukara bulls, clay figures symbolic of protection, prosperity, and fertility.

Next, the tour proceeds to La Raya pass for photo opportunities at a height of over 4300 meters above sea level. Following this, a buffet lunch is provided at a local restaurant. After lunch, participants will visit the archaeological site of Raqchi, home to the remains of the ancient temple of the God Wiracocha.

The final stop is in the village of Andahuaylillas, where the church of San Pedro Apóstol will be visited, known as the "Sistine Chapel of America." The tour concludes in Cusco at 5 pm, returning to the meeting point.
