Sail across the waters of Lake Titicaca and discover local traditions on the floating Uros Islands and the beautiful Taquile Island.
Tour Details
Pickup will occur from your hotel at the designated time, followed by a trip to the port in Puno. You will board a speedboat on Lake Titicaca, located at 12,500 feet (3,810 meters) above sea level.
The tour first stops at the floating Uros Islands, where you can meet the Uru people who reside here. They will share insights about their ancestors' pre-Inca culture and the artificial islands made from a plant called Totora.
Next, you will sail to Taquile Island, the largest island on Lake Titicaca, enjoying views of the lake and mountains along the way. Upon arrival, you will learn about the weaving techniques used by the local inhabitants to create their famous textiles.
An optional traditional lunch will be available before concluding the tour. After 8 hours, you will be returned to your hotel in Puno.
